Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau (GPVSB) recently did a survey of their members, charities and non-profits to learn how they were impacted by COVID-19 and how they’ve engaged with Alberta’s relaunch plan.

GPVSB Executive Director Carol-Anne Pasemko said, “The results clearly reflect the impact on the sector from the pandemic and the challenges that will be faced during the relaunch but working together we will overcome these obstacles and continue serving our communities.”

A few highlights from the survey:

  • 97% of respondents said they were significantly impacted by the pandemic
  • 78% said they would apply for emergency provincial funding
  • 44% had to cancel revenue generating events
  • 44% said the revenue they have lost to date is 25% or more
  • 44% had to lay off staff
