The International Day of Persons with Disabilities Peace Region (formerly the Grande Prairie) Planning Committee would like to extend an invitation to attend our annual event taking place December 10, 2021.

The event is from 11:45am - 1:00pm online through Zoom at https://www.google.com/, link opens at 11:30am.

It's an opportunity to recognize and celebrate disabled members of our community as well as their allies. The ‘Community Inclusion Award’ will also be presented at this time. Nominations for the award are open until December 1st.

We are looking for recipients that have demonstrated an innovative way to reach persons with disabilities, including during COVID-19, and offer support. The nomination form can be found at https://docs.google.com/forms.

International Day of Persons with Disabilities was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly with the goal of increasing awareness surrounding the issues and barriers disabled individuals face world-wide while promoting their rights and well-being.
