The NHL reported 30 new cases of COVID-19 today from phase two of return to play.

They had over 600 players participating in training and practice in phase two, which started June 8, and 4,934 COVID-19 tests were administered to this group. Thirty tests came back positive. NHL says there are aware of 13 other confirmed cases which were not part of phase two protocol.

The players who tested positive are in self-isolation.

Phase three began today (July 13), and the NHL says they will continue to provide regular updates on the number of tests administered to players and the results of those tests. They won’t release information on the clubs or players.
