The City of Grande Prairie is set to begin Phase 4 of the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project in May 2021.

Phase 4 will affect 100 Avenue west of 100 Street to 98 Street. The work planned is a full road reconstruction, wider sidewalks, new streetlights, planter beds, trees, and electrical outlets. Deep underground utility replacement of storm, and sanitary and water lines will also be completed.

The City says these upgrades will be the same as what was done in Phase 3 along 101 Avenue between 102 Street and 100 Street.

There is support available for businesses during the construction. More information is available on the City’s Economic Development webpage.

A pre-construction session was held recently, on Feb. 23. That presentation, and more information on the project, are available online.
