As the world watched New York become the epicentre for COVID-19, churches united to show their support for the city.

New York Blessing, a project joined by 100 churches and 125 singers in New York, gathered over 100 people to sing Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe and Elevation Worship's "The Blessing."

The song was performed in many languages, including Korean, Albanian, and Hebrew.

"In 2020, New York City became the epicentre of the COVID19 virus killing over 25,000 people. Later, our streets were filled with rage, fear and frustration crying out for justice. But, the Church rose up united to Lament, Listen, Learn and Lead in this crisis," New York Blessing says in a YouTube post.

The video takes viewers through the streets of New York, showing the intricacies of the work that was done by Samaritan's Purse in the city.

The also shared a look at the political climate in the streets of New York, highlighting the BLM movement.

"From the epicentre of COVID-19, a prophetic song is rising from the heart of 100 churches in greater NY through 125 singers in 8 languages over the city of New York and to the world!"

The video shows the singers being moved by the words of "The Blessing."

New York Blessing's YouTube video has over 446,000 views.

Other choirs, including ones in the U.K, France, and Canada have shared similar virtual choir pieces throughout the pandemic.
