Today Alberta added 422 new cases of COVID-19, from 9,325 tests.  

There are now 4,738 active cases in the province, and 21,108 recoveries. The province is reporting 159 new recoveries.  

Two more Albertans have died, for a total of 309 deaths since the start of the pandemic.  

Currently, there are 123 people in the hospital, with 16 of these in intensive care. That’s five more hospitalizations since the previous day, but the same amount of ICU admissions. 

In Grande Prairie, 12 new cases of the virus were found, bringing the active total in the City to 103. There’s a total of 149 recoveries, but none new today. 

The outbreak at the Prairie Lakes Seniors Facility in Grande Prairie has now been declared over.  

In the County of Grande Prairie, four new cases were found, bringing the active total to 19. There are 67 recoveries in the County total.  

The County of Grande Prairie has been added to the province’s watch list since it has at least 10 active cases and more than 50 active cases per 100,000. Watch status means that “the province is monitoring the risk and discussing with local government(s) and other community leaders the possible need for additional health measures.” 

The MD of Fairview and the MD of Peace each had one new case of COVID-19 identified.
