Grande Prairie will soon have a new space dedicated to boosting entrepreneurship and innovation, thanks to a $6.4 million investment.

Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) and Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan) are supporting the establishment of The Side Family Centre for Entrepreneurial Excellence, named in honor of local business leader Al Side.

This center aims to enhance local entrepreneurial skills and business capacity, fostering a thriving ecosystem that attracts investment, retains talent, and promotes innovation in the Peace Region.

The project has secured $3.2 million in funding from PrairiesCan's Regional Innovation Ecosystems program, which supports businesses from inception to growth.

Once operational, the center will provide comprehensive support networks, mentorship programs, and access to resources and equipment, driving economic development and regional competitiveness.

This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the region’s innovation landscape by facilitating the success of new ventures and enhancing regional competitiveness. For more information, visit NWP.me/EntrepreneurialExcellence.
