As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Canada, Christians are also rising up and calling the nation to prayer.
"We recognize that Canada is at a critical point as our nation faces the coronavirus head-on," organizers of a National Day of Prayer say.
They're calling for the Canadian Church to pray together as on this Saturday, March 28.
"Everything and everyone is being impacted: families, seniors, the homeless, individuals, the economy, schools, businesses, churches, ministries & non-profits, our healthcare, our government ... everything.
"At times like this our greatest resource - our greatest hope - is prayer. We believe we can dramatically reduce the negative impact of this virus through prayer and fasting."
Organizers want the entire country praying together at the same time, and so they've organized a "virtual solemn assembly" to aid in this. Leaders from the national level and then each province will take turns leading the solemn assembly. It will begin at 9 a.m. CDT and end at 7 p.m. CDT.
They are asking people to register for the online gathering ahead of time here.
