(Denise Thompson, new CAO for the Municipal District of Greenview)

The Council of the Municipal District of Greenview has appointed Denise Thompson as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

Reeve Dale Gervais had this to say: "On behalf of the Municipal District of Greenview Council I am pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Denise Thompson as the Chief Administrative Officer, Ms. Thompson has been the Interim CAO since early January and Council has appreciated the style of management and commitment that Ms. Thompson has brought to the office of the CAO. Greenview Council is looking forward to working with Denise Thompson as we move the municipality forward and establish Greenview as a leader in municipal excellence.”

"Denise’s career includes a mixture of private business and local government. Once a co-owner of a trucking and road construction company, Denise brings with her a solid understanding of the industry. Denise and her husband raised three children while farming in the Warburg area with a complimented household of oil and gas income and Denise’s municipal work. Denise’s career in municipal government spans over 15 years and she came to Greenview in 2012 as a Communications Officer. In 2013, she went on to serve as an Administrator at a Metis Settlement and shortly from there, she returned to municipal government. In her last tenure before returning to Greenview, Denise strategically led the Town of Grande Cache as the CAO and was instrumental in the dissolution process for the Town." (MD of Greenview).

Ms. Denise Thompson spoke about the appointment.

“My solid working knowledge of local government, coupled with my industry knowledge in oil and gas, farming and construction, I hope will prove to be valued attributes in my role as Chief Administrative Officer. My promise to the organization, ratepayers and Council is this: I will work hard every day to be an ambassador for Greenview. I will lead the organization in fairness and accountability, and administer the programs, services and support set out by Council. I am looking forward to working with Council and Staff, serving the ratepayers of the Municipal District of Greenview.”
