Jamie Soles is a local Grande Prairie musician that is no stranger to Christian music.  He grew up in the Evangelical Free Church where his love for singing was born through the many hymns that filled his Sunday mornings.  At age 18 he went to Bible College and joined the company of a number of other young musicians. These collaborations eventually resulted in the formation of the band Damascus Road.   In 1988, Damascus Road produced their first album, a cassette called “Walk By Faith”.  The second recording, "All Right With Me", followed in 1990.   The Damascus Road era began to close and Jamie began recording solo records - the first album was “Fidelity”.  From there, in 1997, he made his first children's Christian Album and continued to grow musicallly in the years that followed with the release of several cds.

2019 marks the release of a brand new Christmas album entitled, "In Those Days".  Jamie commented on the recording process for the record: "I spent most of the summer recording this album. I'm really quite happy with it - it's tied in in what I do as a musician.  I'm a bible story guy.  I sing bible story songs.....I love taking the scriptures and making them accessible to people."

"In Those Days" is available at Shepherd's Fold in downtown Grande Prairie and on the official James Soles web platforms.

Jamie Soles is a Christian singer-songwriter from Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. His Bible-saturated music has strong appeal for kids, families and basically anyone with ears for the stories and psalms of the Scriptures.

Jamie is an elder at Christ Covenant Church of Grande Prairie, where he also serves as chief musician. His music is difficult to categorize. His kids’ music, for which he is perhaps best known, is serious-minded fun, and loved by all ages for its ability to open up Bible stories and lists and make them accessible. His more adult-oriented recordings are full of the Psalms and other Scriptures.

Jamie’s music styles range so widely that one may be most accurate to say that he is developing his own genre. Call it Bible Music. If you love how the whole Bible testifies of Jesus, you will love this music!

Jamie and Val have three married children, and seven grandchildren, and the number remaining at home is diminishing.
