One of the co-writers to the song 'Don't Stop Believin' is releasing an inspirational new single, 'Oh Lord Lead Us.'

Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Jonathan Cain is the keyboardist and one of the songwriters for the highly acclaimed band Journey and has been since 1980. In 2016, Cain released his first solo album, in the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) vein, called What God Wants to Hear.

"Coming out of the Covid lockdown, I wanted to make a statement musically," says Cain. "Being beaten down, closed up, and with churches shuttered by the quarantine lockdowns, it seemed to me that we needed to make ourselves brand new again. We needed something with a little joy in it…Covid was mentally really tough for a lot of people."

This single will be on his upcoming album, the sixth solo Christian album he's produced. It was recorded at his own studio in Nashville and features another Journey band member, Jason Derlatka, on backup vocals. 

Cain leads worship each week at City of Destiny church, in which his wife Paula White-Cain is the senior pastor. The inspiration for the song came from a Bible verse, 1 Chronicles 16:11.

According to the press release for the new single, Cain is also the host of the “Anchored” podcast, sharing his heart on topics of faith, family, marriage, manhood and music, and is featured on his wife’s television shows “Paula Today” and “Faithfully” seen on the Life Network For Women and Daystar Television.

Cain will be performing with Journey as a headliner at Lalapalooza in Chicago on July 31.
