The Salvation Army Kettle Campaign is sitting at a total of $479,413. The Kettles are now gone, but people are still able to donate.

Captain Peter Kim of the Salvation Army shares, "We are hoping to have $525,000, and we aren’t quite there to meeting our goal yet. People can still donate throughout the year. And if they do it by the end of this year, they can get a tax deductable receipt as well."

The local Salvation Army has filled more than 760 Christmas hampers this season. Captain Peter says they have seen an increase with food hampers this year.

"We are seeing so many food hamper registrations this year, there's an increase, of course, with a lot of the job lay offs and people who are just in need this year."

All Kettle donations stay local to help vulnerable families all year long through The Salvation Army’s Community & Family Services. Hot meal programs, clothing, Food Bank services, Christmas assistance, and much more.

This five week campaign actually provides the funding for a full year of services, and the need in our community has been increasing.

“We have seen the support over the years, and it’s been really great for the community to help support those who are in need. And especially that the need has actually been increasing over the years. We’ve actually seen more new faces this year needing the hampers from our food bank. We’ve been able to continue to support people through our generous donation of the community through our kettles and through our mailers.”
