Jason Kenney is in Ottawa this week for First Minister meetings, with the rest of the Premieres from across Canada.

On a live stream from the Calgary airport this morning, Kenney said he'll be supporting the expansion of the federal employment insurance program as fears of the spread of COVID-19 continue to ramp up.

It was announced on Tuesday that the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Alberta had doubled from seven to fourteen.

Alberta's Premier says he would support the expansion of E.I. to help protect the public from spreading the disease, as well as to ensure residents can follow self-quarantine procedures to help prevent the spread of the virus.

In addition to the E.I. expansion, Kenney says he will be advocating for payroll tax relief and access to capital for employers.
