The City of Grande Prairie is excited to re-offer the Junior Lifeguard Club and Rookie Day programs at the Eastlink Centre for youth ages 8 to 15 starting in January.

Junior Lifeguard Club and Rookie Day are great opportunities for youth interested in becoming a lifeguard or who are passionate about swimming. These activities are being offered following positive community reception of the same programs from the fall.

Junior Lifeguard Club is a multi-week program focused on building and improving various skills, including:

  • Swimming skills
  • Lifesaving skills
  • Lifesaving knowledge
  • Leadership

Registration for Junior Lifeguard Club costs $220. At the end of Junior Lifeguard Club, participants can challenge their Bronze Star (ages 12 and under) or Bronze Medallion (ages 13 and older) for an additional $100 fee.
