The 2022 Volunteer Awards Ceremony presents:

  • The 2022 Volunteer of the Year Awards - recognize an individual and organization for their commitment to volunteerism for the past 12 months. “The purpose of these awards is to recognize outstanding contributions by an individual or company during the last twelve months. Grande Prairie is a unique community and a lot of our residents are on the go and their volunteer efforts are often intense and short duration but have a significant impact on an organization – these are the volunteers we seek to recognize.” says Carol-Anne Pasemko, Executive Director of the Association. The Individual Volunteer of the Year Award is sponsored by Servus Credit Union and the Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award is sponsored by the Prairie Mall.
  • The Leaders of Tomorrow Awards presented by ATCO - honour outstanding young Leaders in Grande Prairie and the surrounding area. These awards are presented to youth in two age categories, Junior (13-15 years) and Senior (16-18 years). These youth exhibit dedication and excellence in their fields of volunteer work (e.g. school, community, social activism, athletics or arts) and inspire the spirit of volunteerism in others. International Paper is a contributing sponsor of their Awards.
  • The Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award – created in 2010 to recognize volunteer organizations or foundations in Grande Prairie that have provided outstanding contributions to the community through meritorious service, voluntary contributions and exemplary community development having a direct, positive effect on residents of the City of Grande Prairie.
  • The George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award – created to re cognize individuals who have made a major contribution in the areas of recreation, culture, or social services to the community.

The Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award and George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award are presented by the City of Grande Prairie.
