Environment Canada has released a special weather statement for the area.

"An intense cold front will sweep through the province today and tonight. As the front passes, gusty winds and a marked drop in temperatures can be expected. Daytime highs on Tuesday will be near or below freezing.

"The cold air will also result in heavy snow for parts of western Alberta. The Rocky mountains and foothills regions could see significant snowfall accumulations Monday night and Tuesday."

This will effect Grande Prairie, Wembley, Sexsmith, La Glace, Beaverlodge, Hythe, Demmit, Debolt, Little Smoky, O'Brien Prov. Park and Big Mtn Creek, Sturgeon Lake, Valleyview and New Fish Creek, Wapiti and Shuttler Flats Rec. Area.
