In the latest update from the Alberta government, the number of infected people continues to rise with an additional 42 confirmed cases of COVID - 19.  This brings our provincial total up to 301. 18 patients have been hospitalized and seven are in intensive care units.

One of the positive notes from the update is that there have been no cases of COVID-19 reported at homeless shelters, and Premier Jason Kenny says, "Our number 1 priority is to ensure the health and safety of all Albertans. I am thankful our homeless-serving agencies are there to help protect our most vulnerable populations. We will continue to support them throughout this challenging time."

Some changes to returning travelers' protocols state that they will no longer be tested for the virus, and they should instead self-isolate at home and away from others. This change is effective going forward.

People who have been already told by Health Link that they will be tested will still get tested, and there will be a focus on prioritized testing for the elderly, people with respiratory issues, and people who returned from traveling abroad between March 8 and 12.

11 of the 47 Alberta Health care workers that attended a curling event in Edmonton have tested positive for COVID-19

In an effort to soothe the general public, the Alberta government has taken steps to add some reassurance to the updates with a star-studded youtube video form some prominent Albertans that include politicians, television personalities and musicians.
