On Nov. 22, 2021, at 10:07 p.m., while conducting patrols, Hinton RCMP located a stolen vehicle at Hardisty Creek Village. Police attempted to stop the vehicle which subsequently fled, and in the process damaged a fence on the property. Hinton RCMP recovered the stolen vehicle a short distance away, however the individual had fled the area and was not immediately located.

Approximately two hours later, in the early hours of Nov. 23, 2021, Hinton RCMP received reports of a male wanted on warrants. Police located and arrested the subject near a residence.

The investigation determined that the male arrested on outstanding warrants was the same male who had fled from police in the stolen vehicle.

Lucas Dave Beaulieu (30) of Hinton is charged with the following offences from this incident:

·Flight from Peace Officer

·Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

·Mischief under $5000

·Fail to comply with an undertaking condition

·Possession of methamphetamine

Hinton RCMP have also charged Beaulieu for numerous property related offences in the Hinton and Yellowhead County area from September to November including:

·Flight from peace officer

.Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

·Fail to comply with an undertaking condition (x2)

·Theft over $5000

·Theft under $5000

Beaulieu further had an outstanding warrant for arrest from the Edmonton Police Service for:

·Fail to attend court (x2)

·Fail to provide proof of insurance

Following a judicial hearing, Beaulieu was released on conditions and is next scheduled to appear in Hinton Provincial Court on December 1, 2021.

As these matters are now before the courts, no further details can be released.
