On June 11 High Prairie RCMP entered an investigation into a theft of vehicle that had occurred in Grouard. 

On June 12 High Prairie RCMP received a suspicious vehicle complaint that resulted in locating the stolen vehicle. The driver of the vehicle and two occupants were arrested.  

The stolen vehicle was recovered, and a search resulted in the seizure of a handgun, drug trafficking paraphernalia, a quantity of money and methamphetamine.   

Silas Joshua Thunder, 29, of Edmonton is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. 

Cheris Thea Gladue, 23, of Atikameg First Nations is charged with possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000. 

A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named subject to the limitations of the YCJA, of Gift Lake Metis Settlement is charged with possession of stolen property not exceeding $5,000. 

Following a judicial hearing, Silas Thunder was released with conditions. Cheris Gladue and the youth were also released, and all accused are scheduled to appear in High Prairie Provincial Court on August 24.
