It is with great pride that the Grande Prairie Storm Jr. A. hockey club of the AJHL announces the hiring of our new General Manager, Mark Bomersback.

Mark brings back to the Storm an elite level of hockey knowledge and a reputation for honesty and integrity that is known and respected throughout the Alberta Junior Hockey League and beyond. Mark was an elite player in the AJHL, his 394 career points still stands as the all-time record. Upon finishing his junior career Mark moved on to Ferris State University in the NCAA. Mark’s professional hockey career saw him play in the East Coast and American Hockey Leagues before finishing his career in Europe, including a season in the KHL. Mark previously served as the Storm’s general manager from 2017 until the Covid shortened 2019/20 season following which he stepped down for two seasons.

Mark’s eye for talent and recruiting history brought players to the Storm organization such as Zach Okabe, Ethan Strang and Nathanial Bierd. His passion for the game and desire to once again make Grande Prairie a premier and sought after destination for Junior hockey players will ensure that Storm fans are treated to the highest calibre of hockey in the province.

Mark will now join in the team’s efforts to round out the hockey operations staff, including hiring a new Head Coach.
