The Grande Prairie Storm, Board of Directors, are pleased to announce Nicole Menzies as the new Executive Director for the AJHL hockey club.

Nicole Menzies has lived in Grande Prairie for over 10 years and has forged a strong connection to the community. Menzies brings robust experience in event planning and community affairs. She owned and operated successful businesses in both Grande Prairie and the metro New York City area based on event planning, community connection, social media, and local support. She also has a decade of experience as an Instructor for the University of Alberta and NWP in both the Business and Elementary Education Departments.

Menzies has immersed herself in her volunteer work in Grande Prairie, taking on roles that relate directly to community involvement. She served twice as the Chair of the President’s Ball for NWP, sat on the Mamas for Mamas Executive Board as Community Outreach director, and was part of the Ladies’ Classic Golf tournament committee. She has also served as a Division Commissioner, manager, and tournament chair for Grande Prairie Minor Hockey over the last five seasons.

“The Storm Hiring Committee and Board of Directors are confident in Menzies's ability to lead the organization,” says Storm Vice President, Morgan Lange. “Nicole is entrenched in the hockey community in Grande Prairie. These connections will be invaluable for the team, and we’re excited to see what Nicole accomplishes over the next year.”

“Storm is the Peace Country’s team,” says Nicole Menzies. “I look forward to nurturing and growing relationships between the fans, team, and community, and continuing the tradition of exciting Junior A hockey in the region.”
