In the City of Grande Prairie, six new COVID-19 cases were reported today (June 2), and 14 people recovered. Another death was reported today as well. It was a woman in her 50s who passed away on May 25. There are no known comorbidities connected to the case. The active total is 72 with 3,772 recoveries and 27 deaths.  

In the County of Grande Prairie, five new cases were added, and five people recovered. There are now 53 active cases and 1323 recoveries.

Provincially, Alberta reported 410 new cases from 8,315 tests completed and our positivity rate is about 5.6 per cent. Right now, 6,305 cases are active in the province. With 873 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 219,592. 

There’s 435 people in the hospital with the virus, with 122 of these in intensive care. This is three fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday and five fewer ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 43 people in the hospital with 12 of these admitted to intensive care. 

Alberta has reported four more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 2,231 since the start of the pandemic.  

There have now been 2,841,779 vaccine doses administered, with 406,712 Albertans fully immunized with two doses.
