In the City of Grande Prairie, 15 new COVID-19 cases were reported today (March 12), and 22 people recovered. The active total is 197 with 1575 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, three new cases were added, and three people recovered. There’s now 75 active cases and 442 recoveries.

Peace Region totals:

Provincially, Alberta has reported 425 new cases from 9,913 tests completed and our positivity rate sits at 5%. Right now, 4,546 cases are active in the province. With 365 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 131,081.

There’s 257 people in the hospital with the virus, with 38 of these in intensive care. This is two fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and the same number of ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 29 people in the hospital with two of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported two more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,935 since the start of the pandemic.

Nine more variant cases of COVID-19 have been found for a total of 784. There have been six total found in the North Zone since testing for the variants began.

There have now been 333,379 vaccine doses administered, 5,550 new, with 91,470 people fully immunized with two doses.
