Alberta has added 195 new cases of COVID-19 today (Feb. 9), from about 7,000 tests completed, for a positivity rate of about 3.2%.  

Right now, 5,831 cases are active in the province. With 548 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 119,678. 

There’s 427 people in the hospital with the virus, with 78 of these in intensive care. This is five fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and two more ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 52 people in the hospital with six of these admitted to intensive care. 

Alberta has reported 12 more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,722 since the start of the pandemic.  

There’s been one more U.K. variant case identified since yesterday, for a total of 97. The number of South Africa variant cases is still seven. 

There have now been 124,325 vaccine doses administered. About 32,700 people have been fully immunized with two doses. 

In the City of Grande Prairie, four new cases were added, and 17 people recovered. The active total is 153 with 1101 recoveries.  

Alberta Health added two new Grande Prairie outbreaks to the list. The Grande Prairie Council for Lifelong Learning has seven cases linked to it, with five active and two recovered. Shell Gold Creek has six cases, all active.  

In the County of Grande Prairie, no new cases were added today, and three people recovered. There’s now 36 active cases and 332 recoveries.
