In the City of Grande Prairie, four new cases were reported today (March 9), and 17 people recovered. The active total is 214 with 1518 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, six new cases were added, and four people recovered. There’s now 71 active cases and 427 recoveries.

Peace Region totals:

Provincially, Alberta has reported 255 new cases from 5,434 tests completed and our positivity rate sits at 5%. Right now, 4,470 cases are active in the province. With 412 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 129,978.

There’s 263 people in the hospital with the virus, with 37 of these in intensive care. This is nine more hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and one more ICU admission. In the North Zone, there’s 33 people in the hospital with one of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported six more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,926 since the start of the pandemic.

Twenty-eight more variant cases of COVID-19 have been found for a total of 687. There have been five total found in the North Zone since testing for the variants began.

There have now been 303,823 vaccine doses administered, 4,876 new, with 91,138 people fully immunized with two doses.
