Grande Prairie RCMP welcomed a special new member to their detachment this week- welcome Nytro!

Nytro graduated from his training this year and has been posted to Grande Prairie with his handler.

The RCMP has used police dogs since 1935. Since then, police dogs have proven themselves an invaluable asset to all sorts of investigations. Their primary function is to track missing persons or criminals on the run. They can also search out narcotics, explosives, or human remains, depending on their individual talents and the level of their training.

Thank you to Nytro and his handler for their commitment to protect and serve our community.
