Grande Prairie, Alberta– On November 18, 2018, Grande Prairie Rural RCMP along with assistance from Grande Prairie City RCMP, Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, and Police dog services apprehended two individuals initiated by a stolen vehicle investigation.

Grande Prairie RCMP received a call of a stolen truck and located the vehicle near 108 street and 100 Avenue. RCMP attempted to conduct a traffic stop with the truck.  The suspects fled from police by driving through a nearby field at a high rate of speed.  On the same date, Grande Prairie Rural RCMP observed the truck a second time, near Debolt, AB.  The suspects rammed a marked police vehicle parked nearby and escaped apprehension.  A short time later, RCMP responded to theft of a car from a rural location.  RCMP were able to locate the car weaving into the opposite lane of traffic on Highway 43, near Range Road 26-2.  The suspects were apprehended by RCMP Police Dog Services as they attempted to gain entry into slow moving vehicles.  RCMP were able to link the suspects to both incidents.

Cody Marcel YOUNG  (27) of Edmonton, Alberta is facing the following charges;

  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00.
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00.
  • Two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
  • Possession of a controlled substance.
  • Fail to comply with probation order.
  • Theft under $5000.00.

YOUNG remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on December 3, 2018.

Angela Marie Duncan (39) is facing the following charges;

  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00.
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00.
  • One count of possession of a controlled substance.
  • One count of failing to comply with release conditions.

DUNCAN is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on this date of November 21, 2018.
