UPDATE:  The fire at a business on Range Road 74, at Township Road 713 has been extinguished. Range Road 74 between Highway 43 and Township 720 is now reopened to traffic and no injuries were reported.

Crews from County of Grande Prairie Regional Service Clairmont and Dunes stations, along with Sexsmith and Wembley fire departments, responded to the call at approximately 9:00 a.m. The fire started outside, destroying five passenger vehicles and one commercial vehicle. Crews were able to save the building and the business will be able to continue operations.

The County Public Works department assisted with traffic control during the road closure and provided equipment to remove unstable roofing material as part of the response.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the County Fire Marshal.

Range Road 74 between Highway 43 and Township 720 is temporarily closed to accommodate emergency responders travelling in the area. The closure is expected to last several hours.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, crews from the County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service Clairmont and Dunes stations, along with Sexsmith and Wembley fire departments, responded to a report of multiple vehicles on fire on Range Road 74 at Township Road 713.

Upon arrival, crews found that the fire had spread to an adjacent commercial property.

Crews remain on scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the County Fire Marshal.
