Grande Prairie, Alta- On Friday January 4, 2019 the Grande Prairie Municipal Drug Unit conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle. During the traffic stop, the vehicle driver rammed and damaged two police vehicles. There were no injuries to police or to members of the public. The vehicle driver was found in possession of individually packaged drugs as well as Canadian currency. The following items were seized as a result of the investigation;

  • Approximately 31 pieces of individually packaged fentanyl
  • Approximately 17 pieces of individually packaged crack cocaine
  • $1000 in Canadian currency

Paul Michael Wilson (33) is facing the following charges;

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking x 2
  • possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose x 2
  • possession of property obtained by crime
  • mischief over $5,000 x 2

Wilson is scheduled to appear at Grande Prairie Provincial Court on January 9, 2019.
