On July 24, 2022, at approximately 12:00 a.m. Grande Prairie RCMP received a 911 call of an off road vehicle collision near the Big Mountain Haul Road.

Emergency medical services, fire services and Grande Prairie RCMP attended the scene. EMS pronounced the sole occupant of the off road vehicle, a 54-year-old male deceased at the scene.

The name of the deceased will not be released.

The Grande Prairie RCMP continue to investigate the cause of this fatality.
