Grande Prairie RCMP have arrested an individual and seized drugs following a traffic stop.
On May 24, 2022 at approximately 5:20 p.m., Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) officers were making proactive patrols of the downtown core and located a subject breaching release conditions. The subject was arrested and subsequent search of his affects revealed the following:
·36 grams of suspected methamphetamine
·113 grams of suspected fentanyl
·109 grams of suspected cocaine
·39 grams of suspected Xanax
·11 grams of suspected T-3’s
·3 grams of suspected crack cocaine
·$685 cash
·Cell phones, scales and drug packaging material
Jason Holtz (42) of Grande Prairie was charged with the following offences:
·6 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a controlled substance
·8 counts of Failing to Comply with a release order
Following a judicial hearing Holtz was remanded into custody to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on June 22, 2022.
