Grande Prairie, Alberta - On Sunday, September 16 at approximately 12:00 AM, Grande Prairie RCMP were patrolling near Rotary House when they initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle that had been reported stolen. As police attempted to arrest two males, two females fled the area on foot. Police quickly caught up with one of the females and the second was located with the assistance of Police Dog Services. Both suspects were arrested and taken into custody without further incident.

All four occupants of the vehicle are facing numerous charges:

Claude Normand DUFRESNE ( 39 ) of Grande Prairie was charged with the following:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Fail to comply with conditions

Crystal Mary KIYAWSEW (37) of Grande Prairie was charged with the following:

Obstruct police officer
Fail to comply with conditions
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

Adam Patrick BYRNE (34) of Grande Prairie was charged with the following:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Obstruct Police Officer
Fail to comply with conditions
Identity fraud

BYRNE also had outstanding warrants at the time he was arrested.

Shauna Liza FREEMAN (37) of Dawson Creek, BC has been charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Obstruct police officer
Fail to comply with conditions

All four appeared in court in Grande Prairie on September 19, 2018.
