On Monday, Aug. 14, at approximately 5:27 a.m., the Beaverlodge RCMP received a report that a male had been assaulted, sprayed with mace and left in the area of Township 710 and Range Road 93 near Huallen.
Subsequent investigation by the Grande Prairie General Investigation Section RCMP revealed that the male victim had been assaulted and kidnapped by three suspects in Grande Prairie. The victim was dropped off later by the suspects near the community of Huallen.
The three suspects were all located by police and arrested.
Brandon Mayes (29) a resident of Beaverlodge, has been charged with:
-Kidnapping
-Assault with a weapon
-Robbery
-Assault
-Uttering threats
Mary Estelle (20) a resident of Grande Prairie, has been charged with:
-Assault with a weapon
-Assault
-Uttering threats
-Administer a noxious substance
Tenika Leblanc (42) a resident of Beaverlodge, has been charged with:
-Kidnapping
-Robbery
Following a judicial release hearing, Mayes was remanded into custody to appear Aug. 23, 2023, Estelle was released to appear Sept. 7, 2023 and Leblanc was released to appear Sept. 18, 2023. All are scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice Grande Prairie.
As these matters are now before the courts, no further updates or details surrounding the incident will be provided.
