Grande Prairie RCMP arrested a male and female, and seized a significant amount of drugs after responding to report of an impaired driver.

On Oct. 1, 2023, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Grande Prairie RCMP responded to a report of a possible impaired driver. RCMP attended the area of 112 Street and 100 Avenue and located the suspect vehicle in a parking lot. As a result of further investigation the male driver and female passenger were arrested.

During a search of the vehicle RCMP located what is believed to be 328 grams of cocaine, 240.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 378.7 grams of fentanyl. RCMP also seized an airsoft gun, a knife, four iphones, ammunition, various drug trafficking related paraphernalia, and $5745.00 in Canadian currency.

Brock Gooler (36) and Cassandra Ouellette (33), both residents of Grande Prairie have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x 3.

Following a judicial hearing Gooler was remanded into custody to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie Oct. 4, 2023. Ouellette was released from custody to appear in Alberta Court of Justice Grande Prairie Oct. 23, 2023.

Grande Prairie RCMP would like to thank the public for reporting suspect impaired drivers and suspicious vehicles to the police. This arrest and subsequent significant drug seizure is great example of the critical role that local citizens play in helping the police ensure safe communities.
