On Sept. 6, 2021, at approximately 3:32 a.m. Grande Prairie RCMP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle to conduct a driver documentation and sobriety check of the driver in the area of 116 Avenue and 105 Street in Grande Prairie.

As a result of further investigation, officers learned the male driver was wanted on three warrants of arrest for criminal code matters. The driver was arrested for the outstanding warrants and during a search of him and his vehicle police located what is believed to be 61 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of methamphetamine, numerous small plastic baggies and other drug paraphernalia. Police also seized $2,310. in Canadian currency.

33-year-old Nicholas Berry, of Grande Prairie has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking x 2, and failing to comply with a release order.

Following a judicial hearing, Berry was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Sept. 15, 2021.
