The Grande Prairie Public School Division is pleased to announce it has received a generous grant from Kal Tire to enhance the grounds of Swanavon School.
The funding was used specifically to purchase recycled rubber mulch, a move set to enrich the school's outdoor environment for students and the community.
"We're incredibly grateful for this generous contribution from Kal Tire," said Garth Paquette, Principal of Swanavon School. "For over 65 years, Swanavon has been more than just a school; it's a community
landmark. This grant enables us to maintain a high-quality playground for our students and an outdoor space our school and community can be proud of."
Randy Smashnuk, store manager at Kal Tire Grande Prairie, said his staff were proud to be part of the revitalization project, "we believe in supporting the community we live, work, and play in.". Through
Kal's RePlay Fund, his company supported the enhancement of the playground with functional, long-lasting recycled rubber mulch.
The investment in Swanavon School's outdoor space exemplifies how community partnerships can amplify academic, social, and emotional well-being. The Division thanks Kal Tire for supporting student
success while helping to improve the community and the environment.
