On Tuesday afternoon, Grande Prairie Mayoral and Council candidates gathered at the Mamawe Concourse next to the Montrose Cultural Centre to sign a pledge created by the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association.

Councillor Dylan Bressey says, "It will commit us to upholding key democratic principles, including transparency through making campaign finance disclosures prior to election day. We will be calling on all other candidates to sign this pledge, and encouraging residents to ask candidates if they are upholding the principles found within it."

There were many council and mayoral candidates in attendance, all committed to running a fair and respectful race in the upcoming election. All three mayoral candidates signed the pledge on Tuesday.

Albertans will head to the polls on October 18 to vote in this years Municipal Election.
