On Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit began investigating multiple thefts from mailboxes that had occurred between Dec.14, 2023 and Jan. 22, 2024.

Video surveillance received from one of the 27 thefts resulted in the identification of a male suspect and his vehicle. A subsequent search warrant was conducted, leading to the arrest of the male suspect and a female suspect.

Gary Cameron McKeever (30) and Beth Seymour (29), residents of Grande Prairie, have been charged with:

  • Possession of Matter Stolen from Mail
  • Theft from Mail
  • Illegal Possession of Government Documents
  • Possession of Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of Break-in instrument
  • Possession of forged document
  • Possession of Crack/Cocaine 
  • Possession of Meth

McKeever and Seymore were brought before a justice of the peace and were released, to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on Mar. 13, 2024.
