The Grande Prairie area saw a jump in cases over the weekend. 

The City of Grande Prairie is reporting three new active cases, with the County reporting two new, which makes three active as well. The City has had 20 cases and the County 10. 

The MD of Fairview has its first active case. Clear Hills County saw two new cases. They now have four active and nine recovered.  

The County of Northern Lights has two more active cases, for a total of three and no recoveries yet.  

Mackenzie County, the area that includes High Level and La Crete, saw new cases and one death, the first in the County. They have 14 active and 42 recovered. Mackenzie County is on the Province’s watch list, meaning they have at least 10 active cases and 50 per 100,000 people. The province will be monitoring the risk and discussing the possible need for further health measures with local governments. 

Provincially, there were 54 new cases reported on July 10, 96 on July 11 and 80 on July 12, for a total of 230. We have 676 active cases and 7,989 recoveries. There was one new death for a total of 161.

There are 45 in the hospital with COVID-19 with 10 in intensive care.
