In Alberta today, Dec. 15, 1,341 new cases were reported from 16,353 tests, for a positivity rate of 8.2%. 

Eleven more COVID-related deaths were reported, for a total of 744 since the start of the pandemic. Currently, 742 people are in the hospital with 137 of these in intensive care. In the North Zone, the number is 35 with 4 admitted to ICU’s. 

There are 20,649 active cases in the province and recoveries are at 61,934. There were 1,804 more recoveries since yesterday.  

In Grande Prairie, seven new cases of COVID-19 were added, and nine people recovered. There are now 115 active cases in the City and 498 recoveries.  

In the County, five people recovered and no new cases were added, for an active total of 22 with 177 recoveries.  

An outbreak was declared at the Chevron worksite in Fox Creek. Alberta Health says that six cases are connected to it, with four active and two recovered.
