In the City of Grande Prairie, 16 new COVID-19 cases were reported today (May 19), and 54 people recovered. The active total is 282 with 3,486 recoveries.  

In the County of Grande Prairie, six new cases were added, and 17 people recovered. There are now 90 active cases and 1,231 recoveries.

Provincially, Alberta reported 908 new cases from 10,392 tests completed and our positivity rate is about 9.1 per cent. Right now, 18,813 cases are active in the province. With 2,102 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 200,496. 

There’s 685 people in the hospital with the virus, with 185 of these in intensive care. This is six fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday and two fewer ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 82 people in the hospital with 14 of these admitted to intensive care. 

Alberta has reported six more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 2,158 since the start of the pandemic.  

There have now been 2,271,955 vaccine doses administered, with 332,276 Albertans fully immunized with two doses.
