In the City of Grande Prairie, 22 new COVID-19 cases were reported today (May 11), and 37 people recovered. The active total is 492 with 3,154 recoveries.  

In the County of Grande Prairie, seven new cases were added, and 18 people recovered. There are now 161 active cases and 1,111 recoveries. An outbreak was added to the list today in the County: a private dayhome that has six active cases.

Provincially, Alberta reported 1,449 new cases from 11,852 tests completed and our positivity rate is about 12.7 per cent. Right now, 24,998 cases are active in the province. With 1,887 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 184,719. 

There’s 705 people in the hospital with the virus, with 163 of these in intensive care. This is 15 more hospitalizations than reported yesterday and five more ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 100 people in the hospital with 15 of these admitted to intensive care. 

Alberta has reported three more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 2,119 since the start of the pandemic.  

There have now been 1,947,004 vaccine doses administered, with 319,779 Albertans fully immunized with two doses.
