Alberta has added 314 new cases of COVID-19 today (Feb. 12), from about 8,400 tests completed, for a positivity rate of about 3.7%.

Right now, 5,407 cases are active in the province. With 392 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 121,068.

There’s 371 people in the hospital with the virus, with 66 of these in intensive care. This is 26 fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and five fewer ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 45 people in the hospital with three of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported 16 more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,760 since the start of the pandemic.

There’s been 15 more variant cases identified since yesterday, for a total of 171. There have not been any variant cases found in the North Zone. There have been 77 found in the Calgary Zone, 57 in the Edmonton Zone and 37 in the Central Zone.

There have now been 140,389 vaccine doses administered.

In the City of Grande Prairie, 20 new cases were added, and 12 people recovered. The active total is 190 with 1136 recoveries. An outbreak has been identified at Signature Support Services in Grande Prairie. There are six cases connected to it, and all are active.

In the County of Grande Prairie, seven new cases were added today, and nine people recovered. There’s now 39 active cases and 346 recoveries.
