In Alberta today (Dec. 13), 1,854 new cases of COVID-19 are being reported from more than 19,600 tests, for a positivity rate of about 9.5%. 

There are now 17,743 active cases in the province, and there’s been 1,241 recoveries, bringing the recovered total to 44,705. 

Today, 14 more COVID-related deaths were reported, one in the North Zone, for a total of 575 since the start of the pandemic.  

Currently, 511 Albertans are hospitalized with 97 of this in intensive care. This is an increased of seven hospitalizations from yesterday with ICU admission holding steady. In the North, hospitalizations went down by three to 23, with still two people in intensive care. 

In Grande Prairie, 16 new cases were added and four people recovered from the virus. Active cases are up to 82, with 422 total recoveries. In the County of Grande Prairie, active cases are at 20 with 154 recoveries after three new cases were found and one person recovered. 

Birch Hills County reported one recovery today. Mackenzie County and MD of Lesser Slave River had one recovery each along with one new case. MD of Greenview added three new cases and had two people recover. MD of Peace had two new cases and four recoveries.
