In the City of Grande Prairie, 15 new COVID-19 cases were reported today (March 19), and 14 people recovered. The active total is 139 with 1707 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, two new cases were added, and four people recovered. There’s now 56 active cases and 487 recoveries.

Peace Region totals:

Provincially, Alberta has reported 696 new cases from 11,918 tests completed and our positivity rate sits at 5.8 per cent. Right now, 5,429 cases are active in the province. With 351 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 133,437.

There’s 276 people in the hospital with the virus, with 48 of these in intensive care. This is 12 more hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and five more ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 29 people in the hospital with four of these admitted to intensive care.

No COVID-related deaths were reported today, and the total remains at 1,957.

One-hundred-thirty more variant cases of COVID-19 have been found for a total of 1,318. There have been 23 total found in the North Zone since testing for the variants began, six of which are new.

There have now been 439,069 vaccine doses administered, with 92,935 people fully immunized with two doses.
