In the City of Grande Prairie, 15 new COVID-19 cases were reported today (March 17), and 13 people recovered. The active total is 162 with 1663 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, five new cases were added, and eight people recovered. There’s now 62 active cases and 479 recoveries.

Peace Region totals:

Provincially, Alberta has reported 479 new cases from 10,827 tests completed and our positivity rate sits at 4.7 per cent. Right now, 4,918 cases are active in the province. With 333 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 132,748.

There’s 262 people in the hospital with the virus, with 44 of these in intensive care. This is two more hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and the same number of ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 31 people in the hospital with three of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported four more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,956 since the start of the pandemic.

Fifty more variant cases of COVID-19 have been found for a total of 1097. There have been 17 total found in the North Zone since testing for the variants began, two of which are newly reported.

There have now been 397,492 vaccine doses administered, with 92,081 people fully immunized with two doses.
