Peace Region totals:

Dr. Hinshaw announced two outbreaks today, at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre and the Calgary Correctional Centre. There are 23 cases connected to the Care Centre, including 19 residents. At the Correctional Centres, there are 24 cases, with 20 being inmates. Dr. Hinshaw says that outbreak protocols, testing and isolation measures have been put in place at both locations.

Dr. Hinshaw says that the leading source of exposures with current cases is close contacts; many are a result of spread over Thanksgiving weekend. She says that social gatherings without proper measures in place continue to be a source of spreading.

The doctor says they are looking seriously at the spread and determining the next steps. She urges Albertans to remain vigilant, even though they are tired, because COVID is not tired of us.
