Alberta has added 277 new cases of COVID-19 today (Feb. 17), from about 7,500 tests completed and our positivity rate sits at about 3.9%.

Right now, 4,857 cases are active in the province. With 406 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 122,960.

There’s 370 people in the hospital with the virus, with 60 of these in intensive care. This is five more hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and four more ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 45 people in the hospital with none of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported seven more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,798 since the start of the pandemic.

Four more variant cases of COVID-19 have been found, for a total of 225. There have not been any variant cases found in the North Zone or South Zone. There have been 99 found in the Calgary Zone, 79 in the Edmonton Zone and 47 in the Central Zone.

There have now been 152,056 vaccine doses administered. Those who have received two doses and are fully immunized is more than 56,500.

In the City of Grande Prairie, 10 new cases were added, and nine people recovered. The active total is 220 with 1188 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, two new cases were added today, and zero people recovered. There’s now 43 active cases and 360 recoveries.
