Alberta has added 396 new cases of COVID-19 today (Feb. 5), from almost 10,000 tests completed, for a positivity rate of about 4%.

Right now, 6,407 cases are active in the province. With 568 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 117,968.

There’s 475 people in the hospital with the virus, with 89 of these in intensive care. This is 42 fewer hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and four fewer ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 56 people in the hospital with eight of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta has reported nine more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,693 since the start of the pandemic.

There are now a total of 78 variants that have been found in the province; 71 of the U.K. variant and seven of the South Africa variant.

There have now been 114,066 vaccine doses administered.

In the City of Grande Prairie, 10 new cases were added, and 11 people recovered. The active total is 135 with 1070 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, no new cases were added today, and eight people recovered. There’s now 34 active cases and 326 recoveries.
