In the City of Grande Prairie, 10 new COVID-19 cases were reported today (March 15), and 20 people recovered. The active total is 172 with 1631 recoveries.

In the County of Grande Prairie, six new cases were added, and seven people recovered. There’s now 70 active cases and 466 recoveries.

Peace Region totals:

Provincially, Alberta has reported 364 new cases from 6,618 tests completed and our positivity rate sits at 5.5%. Right now, 4,811 cases are active in the province. With 247 more people recovering, the recovered total has reached 132,028.

There’s 255 people in the hospital with the virus, with 42 of these in intensive care. This is seven more hospitalizations than reported yesterday, and four more of ICU admissions. In the North Zone, there’s 29 people in the hospital with two of these admitted to intensive care.

Alberta had an R value, or reproduction number, of 1.07 (1.03-1.11) from March 8 to 14. The Edmonton Zone had a value of 0.99 (0.91-1.07), Calgary Zone was 1.08 (1.01-1.15) and the rest of Alberta was 1.10 (1.03-1.16).

Alberta has reported three more COVID-related deaths, for a total of 1,949 since the start of the pandemic.

Sixty-five more variant cases of COVID-19 have been found for a total of 985. There have been 12 total found in the North Zone since testing for the variants began, two of which are newly reported.

There have now been 368,124 vaccine doses administered, 5,494 new, with 91,593 people fully immunized with two doses.
